It gives forests much better visuals imo, it looks beautiful with sky shadowing for the trees/vegetation. In my experience SSGI isn't good for interiors, too much noise and the limitations of screen-space effects.īut It could really be a really good fit for outdoor areas. You can also adjust their number, size and define which frame of your video to sample in the Sampling tab of the Remove Grain effect. You can now drag them and place them manually in especially noisy parts of your video within the preview window. If the noise could be reduced with full res disabled it'd be a really big win for SSGI, and In general better denoising. All of your sample points will collapse to the middle of the preview window. I don't know what res is used if Full Res is disabled. The issue is noise goes up quite a bit with full res disabled, and it'd be worse than the video since the game would be taking the entire window. The T time frames of a sample were regarded as T channels. So the T-frame rough reconstruction images of the same slice obtained by the FBP part were considered as a sample and were inputted to the denoiser.
Thanks to V-Ray Frame Buffer, all edits can be made directly in V-Ray for 3ds Max without leaving the application. Using the information of the late time frame might be able to help the early time frame recover some incomplete structural information.
With full res enabled, it's much better, there's still some noise and ghosting, but it's manageable in outdoor areas.īut performance is quite high, approx 7.3ms on a GTX 1070 with quality set to low (in outdoor open areas quality doesn't make a big difference in visuals so keeping it low is good) and that cost is a bit crazy.īut with Full Res Disabled it goes down to approx 2.6ms! which is manageable on a GTX 1070. Post-processing is an important stage and the final phase of producing your render. Been testing SSGI in a forest outdoor env, it's actually a good fit for outdoors!
